NCW 2016:  Solving Mysteries through Chemistry

NCW 2016 will take place on October 16 – 22, 2016.
Theme: "Solving Mysteries through Chemistry"
Exploring the chemistry of fibers and forensics.

Oct 13-27:  NCW @ Libraries. National Chemistry Week  Theme 2016:  “Solving Mysteries Through Chemistry.”   3 Section outreach programs at 3 Toledo Area branch libraries (J Hinton, Oct 13, Oct 20, Oct 27). Wonderful help from students from alpha chi sigma fraternity at UToledo. Attendees young and old enjoyed learning the mystery behind goldenrod paper invisible writing and solving other mysteries.

 Nov 8-12 NCW @ IS:  total visitors to Imagination Station 3067; assume many attended Toledo ACS Hands-On Tables; total 82 volunteers, 80 of which were UToledo students, assisted over 5 days; Event was crime scene of Who Stole the Cookies?  Ink analysis, fingerprint analysis, unknown powder, fiber analysis;Track imprints, Magic Water; Edith Kippenhan coordinator
